I don't know what to think about tonight. I had a horrible, uneasy feeling last night and today. I was getting the creeps that Danny might go home. I started feeling calmer this afternoon, so maybe it's going to work out. Now that I'm thinking about it again I'm feeling a little bit nauseated.

So, Emilie thought that Kris was but the bee's knees. I thought he may have been flatulating into the microphone. It may have been because I didn't like the songs, but I genuinely thought he sounded really awful.

Adam, on the other hand, always sounds awful and last night was no exception. It's funny that when people talk about Adam they never talk about his ability to sing. It's always about his charisma (cockiness), fearlessness (arrogance) and, to use Simon's word, swagger (I'm not going to venture into what he meant by that).

I think Adam and Kris have clearly defined themselves in the past couple weeks. Adam, by embarrassing himself when he assumed he would never be in the bottom 3. Kris, when he showed genuine shock at being pronounced safe.

I'm just glad it's almost over.

Allison = X

First, Firefox has been my browser of choice for as long as it's been available. Starting a few releases ago it started freezing my system occasionally. It's not really a true freeze - it just slows the computer to an unusable crawl. I've been unable to find a solution, so I'm using Chrome almost exclusively. A lot of pages don't work on Chrome, though. For example, you can't log into some web pages if you're using Chrome. Lame.

Anyway, last week was awesome. I loved watching Adam's smug expression when Ryan told him he was in the bottom 3. He thinks he's so much better than everyone else. He was originally creepy and not a very good singer. From there he has clearly moved into the category of grotesque. I feel like I need to disinfect my TV after he's been on. I'm guessing that they are not going to do a "bottom three" this week since there are only four left. I don't see any possible way that Allison survives this week.

I have family stuff to blog about, but I won't mix my AI rantings with kid stuff. That just wouldn't be nice.

Matt has to be going home tonight. I'm trying not to let common sense guide my thoughts. Obviously, the people who sound like chain smokers and those who are just way too freaky-deaky creepy should be gone. Of course, after eliminating two last week then that would put the chain smoker in the bottom position. But, new week, new vote unfortunately.

I'm starting to waffle, though. I have an uneasy feeling that Kris may go home before the chain smoker.

I had a terrible thought come into my head last night. I was thinking about how there is no chance of Adam winning American Idol, but then I remembered what happened in November. The thought is a little bit terrifying, but at least there is some good news. I think that this week is the week! Allison is going to be voted off. I think the other elimination will be either Lil or Matt. Hopefully not Matt - he's aight.

I feel like I'm living in bizarro world. As far as I can tell, Adam's special talent is that he can screech the same note really loud week after week. I really, honestly and truly don't understand Adam's popularity. He's going down, though. I predict he'll make top three, but not top two and definitely no win.

I've finally stopped crying long enough to post something. Last weeks American Idol was absolutely horrible. We went from the highest of highs (so long, MJC!) to the lowest of lows. And there were still half a dozen other people that could have gone first. I mean, Adam was the obvious choice, but there was also Allison and Lil. Admittedly, after that it gets a little harder to decide. But still, there was Adam and Allison!

News is always exciting with the kids. Bryce had his well-baby checkup today and came in at 95th percentile for weight, 95th percentile for height and a pathetic 75th percentile for head size. Sadly, he's pretty much outgrown his infant car seat, but he still needs to fit in it for two more months. We might be able to adapt foot binding techniques to make do until the switch.

Bryce has also started rolling over. He still needs to figure out what to do with that arm, which is always a bigger challenge than the actual rolling over. We told him that once he can roll completely over, including getting past the arm obstacle, that we'll take him to Outback for dinner. That seems to be motivating him.

Speaking of eating, we've had to be careful about where we leave lotion in the house because Mason eats it. I haven't been able to bring myself to taste it to see what the appeal is, but he seems to think it's pretty outstanding. I keep thinking he'll get a taste and then spew it in disgust, but this is not the case. He eats it like it's candy. And he likes candy.

As Bryce gets bigger we've started to bring out the old infant toys like the doorway jumper, the activity center with accompanying walker device and Bumbo baby seat. Although the kids have nearly a quarter of a million dollars worth of toys, they fight like mad over the stupid baby toys. Then again, they seem to like fighting in general. They regularly brawl over doodle pads even though there are usually three or four on the floor at any time. But they all have to have the same one. I'm not sure whether to discourage this behavior or build my own toddler octagon.

We've also been enjoying a broken faucet in our kitchen. A piece broke, which means that we can turn it on fairly easily, but to turn it off you have to use a screwdriver. I was able to find the part online, but it's going to take a week to get it. It's sitting in Mequite, TX right now. Doing nothing.

I went on my first mountain biking ride on Saturday. I got a call from Emilie's dad while I was on a walk with Chase and ended up going on a quick ride on the Keystone/Rancho loop. I don't think I've been on the Keystone trail for at least three years - maybe four. It was a nice way to start the season. Weather was incredible so all was good.

And finally, we went to Emilie's parents house for Easter. A good time was had by all except that allergies were a big issue. I thought I was going to die and even Emilie and Chase were affected (not by my allergies - they had their own). Anyway, the food was great and Mason and Chase fed carrots to the horses. According to Emilie, Mason almost wet himself with excitement when the horse ate the carrots. I was hanging out in the car with Jaxon, so I missed it. Bummer.

I've wondered for weeks why Megan is still on AI. I heard that her performance last week was the reason why North Korea suddenly seemed so determined to launch a missile at the United States, but I don't know if that's true. And she wasn't even in the bottom three! If you still think the results aren't rigged, then how do you explain that?

After listening to her belch out another terrifying performance I have to say she's still my favorite for going home tonight. I just wish we could ditch Megan so that we can get on with eliminating Allison.

Kris has been doing pretty well, so I think there's a chance he may make it to the top three with Danny and the shrieking eel. There's still something that bothers me about Kris and I can't pinpoint it. Maybe someone else has an idea about this...

Then again, Scott may suddenly surge and decimate the competition.

Allison will be spared this week. This is simply because Megan was so much worse. Allison's clock is still ticking. Her time is coming... Soon...

Whether You Like It Or Not

This is probably not the appropriate time to make American Idol comments since I am already agitated about the show being bumped to Wednesday. I think I've done a good job keeping my mouth shut about the particular individual responsible for the bumping, all things considered. One of these days the flood gates will open, but not here, not now. But I don't want to make Lisa upset by withholding my American Idol commentary, so here goes:

Last week was a decent elimination, although Adam would clearly have been the best choice. He's this years Sanjaya. Alexis was not annoying and she could sing fairly well. There wasn't a chance of her winning, though, so why drag it out? I think Megan would have been a much better elimination. At first I was dismayed by another sleeveless dress worn by Megan, but then I realized it wasn't sleeveless after all - it was painted on. And they apparently ran out of paint halfway through. Or maybe they thought they didn't need as much paint since one side of her body was painted already. But I digress.

This week Allison will be eliminated. There is a slight chance it could be Megan, but I'd put my money on Allison. Megan will be voted off next week.

I am certain that Adam and Danny will be in the top 3, but I'm not sure who will be the third. I'm leaning toward Matt. I wish it were Scott, but I just don't think it will happen. I like Anoop, too, but I don't think he'll make it either. Danny will win by a landslide, but that won't be the end for Adam. Adam will go on to record an album and enjoy the same kind of success that Cher continues to enjoy.

So what's the scoop on the Top 10?

Allison is going home this week, so I'll try to be nice. I don't like her. Wait, that wasn't nice.

Lil is okay, but we already picked Fantasia once so we know how that worked out for us.

Michael is good and I can appreciate that he is trying to get away from a dangerous line of work to do something he enjoys. I'm torn, though, because I'm not sure that willingly becoming a celebrity is cool to do when you have kids. That seems a little selfish to me, especially when your kids tell you that they think you are abandoning them. I'm just saying...

Matt and Kris are both good. I just don't have much of an opinion about either of them.

Scott just goes out and does his thing. He's not pretentious like Adam. I don't think he's necessarily the best, but I would love it if he won.

Danny is awesome and I would love to see him win.

Adam can't sing, he looks disturbing and he definitely looks like he thinks he deserves this. But he doesn't. I hope that Ring of Fire showed everyone just who Adam is and maybe we can get rid of him and move on with our lives.

Update Bryce and Stuff

Well, my blogging just wouldn't be blogging unless I talked about kids being sick. Jaxon's reaction to his MMR shot turned out to not be a reaction and Chase ended up catching it. He got it a little worse, though. I think everyone is finally over it all and healthy. Unfortunately, Chase spread the love to poor Ashton the day before he started showing symptoms. Definitely not cool.

We've been laughing at some of Mason's attempts to talk. In particular, "banana" is always hilarious. It's also funny that he mixes-up words that start with "s". For example, "star" becomes "tars" and "spoon" becomes "poons". It's funny now. It might not be when he's in therapy.

Here are a couple of current Bryce pictures:

American Idol was getting super awesome when all of a sudden without any reason or warning, they brought back Tatiana! I mean, seriously. Nathaniel is gone. We even let that freaky Lambert guy stay. I say get rid of Von and Tatiana as payment for keeping Adam around. First chance we get we'll ditch Adam and move on. This season I will allow Danny or Scott to win. The rest must perish.

Yakkety-Yak, Sick Shots

I recently heard about this thing called "blogging" and it sounded kind of fun. I started to put together my own blog and then suddenly remembered that I already had one! It's just been so long that I apparently forgot.

I took too long for a follow-up post. Had I posted this a couple of days ago then I could have said that our househould is finally pretty much free of illness. Everyone got over their colds, except for Bryce who still has some mild throat congestion. But because I waited too long now we're sick again. Jaxon is not feeling his best and actually shellacked the hardwood yesterday. No one else seems to have it yet and Jaxon has not performed an encore, so I think we're heading in the right direction.

Since my last substantial posting there have been a few newsworthy occurrences. On Wednesday night we put all the kids to bed and then headed for the TV to watch the exciting results on American Idol (more on that later). By the time we were done watching and I was headed for bed it was about 10p. I heard a beeping sound coming from the direction of the kid's rooms and thought one of them might have fallen asleep on a toy or something, but quickly discovered that Chase was still awake and playing with his Little Einsteins Blast-Off Learning Laptopâ„¢. Once I took it away he collapsed in exhaustion.

Jaxon and Mason went in to get their MMR a couple of weeks ago. That's always fun. Bryce got his 8-week shots, which he enjoyed quite a bit. I don't know what they gave him - I just told the nurse, "load him up."

Mason is talking quite a bit more these days. Our favorite words are "bear", which comes out more like "bay-uh" and "heart" where he forms his mouth like he's blowing out candles or something. He recently start saying "toast", which comes out something more like "toy-toast". He also likes to preface most of his words with "it's a..." He is pretty good at saying just about anything you tell him to. Jaxon still doesn't say a lot. He says "car" and "ball", but not much else. It's okay, though.

American Idol continues satisfy and infuriate. First, Kara DioGuardi: F. I'm not a fan. We don't need four judges, let alone one as annoying as she is. So, tip for next season: ditch Kara. On the bright side, so far the ultra-annoying contestants have been short-lived (read Tatiana). In the past it was almost as if they were fixing the votes to keep losers on for the sake of controversy. In fact, I guarantee that's what they were doing. There's no other way to explain Mikalah, Sanjaya, Danny Noriega or Clay Aiken. And I'm being nice. If you want the full list of undeserving, talentless boneheads that the judges put through then send me an e-mail. But I don't really have a strong opinion about it.

And, for my personal records, I went and donated some blood. I gave my 38th and 39th units on January 28. I noticed also that my cholesterol spikes in October and then drops dramatically over the next few months and then starts climbing around June or July. Any theories? I think it's weird.
