Spawning Party Kids

It's been a month since I last graced this page with my prose. Although I should be sleeping I am committed to doing a little bit of catch-up.

In summary, since I last posted we attended a raging Halloween party. Emilie played a little bit of DDR. Brad did not.

We also got to go to the E. family home and enjoy pie and company with the E.'s and the O.'s. Jaxon threw a baseball over the railing at the top of the stairs and it hit me in the head. It wasn't a toy baseball. It was a real baseball. It hurt.

A few weeks ago we acquired beds for Jaxon and Mason and took down their cribs. They adjusted pretty quick to the change. Of course, the cribs ceased containing them long ago, so the change was minimal.

Also a few weeks ago, Mike organized an outing to go see the salmon spawning up at Tahoe. We went with the G. family and brought along Jaxon and Mason. Jaxon did great, but Mason wanted to be held the whole time. It was fun, though. There were a lot of dead fish. But the ones that were still alive were living life to the fullest.

Mason has presented us with a challenge recently. His favorite words are "I don't!" This is usually his response to almost anything you say. For example, "Mason, come put your shirt on" or "Eat your dinner" or "Give me a hug" or just about anything else will be met with, "I don't!" This is apparently his abbreviation for "I don't want to" or maybe it's a fancy way of saying "no".

Jaxon's vocabulary has blossomed quite a bit during the past week or two. He is actually communicating quite well.

Bryce is still army-crawling. He can crawl and chooses to do so on occasion, but usually not. He tends to crawl whenever he anticipates needing to pull himself up onto something. For example, if he wants to pull himself up on a chair, but the chair is on the opposite side of the room, he'll usually crawl. If he doesn't expect to need to climb anything then it's back to the army crawl.

As always, I have things in draft and they rarely make it to a post in a timely manner. I do have one more post in draft and some updated pictures. Bah.
