SOS! Walking, Talking Books!

| | Comments (0)

And the longer I wait to blog the less likely it is that I'll ever blog again. Let's see if I can make any progress here...

Jaxon has become a walker during the past week. He's been able to walk for a while but he usually would just go a few steps and then give up. He's now able to walk as far as he wants and seems to finally prefer walking to crawling. Mason, on the other hand, is starting to run a little bit. At least, I think he might be running. He looks kind of like you would imagine a gingerbread man would look if he could run.

Mason is also starting to talk a little. A couple weeks ago he started saying "thank you". Since then he has started saying "book" and "duckie". I think that's what he's saying. Jaxon hasn't said much of anything. Jaxon and Chase like to have shouting matches. I can't decide if it's annoying or funny. I think it might be funny.

Both babies love to read books, much like Chase always has. All you have to do is sit on the floor and they'll come over and situate themselves on your lap and get ready to read.

Even though Chase loves to read, he tends to pick horrible books. If you're ever over you can ask to see his favorite books. I'm afraid to publicly state what they are in case the authors ever read this. One of the authors is local. Plus, there's precedent for people reading the ridiculous things I write. If you're ever over you can ask about that, too.

While taping the babies bedroom in preparation for painting I was listening to Every Breath You Take: The Classics. We suddenly realized that Chase was singing along to "Message in a Bottle". It's been one of his favorite songs ever since and he constantly asks us to play the "SOS song".
