Homecoming - Part II

|

Baby Jaxon came home with us last Monday so we're all home now. After a few days of successfully breathing without assistance they discharged him from the NICU. Now that he's been home for a week things have been pretty interesting. For example, it took me a week to post a message saying that he's home.

It's interesting to see how different the two babies are. They look so different that Chase can already easily tell them apart. They also have extremely different personalities. Mason likes to be held and cuddled and tends to cry out for no reason more often. Jaxon doesn't cry much and seems to be much more patient. Mason is like a light switch - he'll sleep peacefully but then suddenly wake up screaming and acting as though he hasn't eaten for days. It should be interesting to see how things change as time goes on.

Here are some current pictures of each of the babies (Jaxon and Mason, respectively):

Chase is still very affectionate toward the babies, although a little too aggressively at times. He's hitting his terrible twos full force so we're not sure how much is typical for his age and how much is acting out because of the babies. His current favorites sins are pulling things off the counter (plates, knives, purses, etc.), taking lotion or gel and squirting it on himself and the carpet and pulling all the wipes out of the container one by one. He's still a good kid generally so we're not sending him to boot camp just yet...
