Curse of the Jr. Cheeseburger

|

With Dave Thomas gone Wendy's is falling apart.

Here are some facts:

  • It doesn't matter which Wendy's you go to - they will all give you the wrong thing at the drive-thru
  • You are almost certain to receive the right burger if you order at the counter
  • Problems aside, the Jr. Cheeseburger is still downright delicious

It's hard to describe how sad it makes you feel when you think you're about to enjoy a Jr. Cheeseburger but then open the wrapper to find mayonnaise, lettuce. tomato, bacon, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with these things, but when I'm in the mood for pancakes I don't order pizza.

Yesterday this whole situation took a turn for the worse. I went to Wendy's and ordered chili and a salad from the value menu, but then at the last minute I added a Jr. Cheeseburger to the order. As I was on my way back to work I cracked open the bag and was pleasantly shocked to find that they provided the correct burger! This is the first time the order was correct since I began tracking their ineptitude. Exuberantly, I went to take a bite but instead received a giant paper cut on my lip from the wrapper. The trauma of instantly going from complete euphoria to such despair almost made me nauseated.

The burger was still good, but the delicious flavor was tainted with my blood. I must learn to let go of the Jr. Cheeseburger. It isn't meant to be.

Your troubled hearts can now be calmed! Glenn Beck has returned to 99.1 after a lame hiatus. I'm not sure why they took him off in the first place, but he's now back. You knew there was bad news coming, right? Well, he's on during the 9a-12p time slot, which means that he is still not on for the morning commute.

Note to Jerry Evans: You had it right before! Glenn Beck from 6a-9a was awesome! He was on while getting ready for work and then during the drive to work. You really need more interesting personalities for the work commute! Laura Ingraham and Lars Larson are okay, but you need something better for the drive. If you get strong personalities for the commute slots then you will crush KOH like a pathetic bug. It doesn't need to be extreme - even Bill O'Reilly would be a good choice for the evening drive. Mark Levin (why did you trade him?!) would have been a good choice, too.

Homecoming - Part II

|

Baby Jaxon came home with us last Monday so we're all home now. After a few days of successfully breathing without assistance they discharged him from the NICU. Now that he's been home for a week things have been pretty interesting. For example, it took me a week to post a message saying that he's home.

It's interesting to see how different the two babies are. They look so different that Chase can already easily tell them apart. They also have extremely different personalities. Mason likes to be held and cuddled and tends to cry out for no reason more often. Jaxon doesn't cry much and seems to be much more patient. Mason is like a light switch - he'll sleep peacefully but then suddenly wake up screaming and acting as though he hasn't eaten for days. It should be interesting to see how things change as time goes on.

Here are some current pictures of each of the babies (Jaxon and Mason, respectively):

Chase is still very affectionate toward the babies, although a little too aggressively at times. He's hitting his terrible twos full force so we're not sure how much is typical for his age and how much is acting out because of the babies. His current favorites sins are pulling things off the counter (plates, knives, purses, etc.), taking lotion or gel and squirting it on himself and the carpet and pulling all the wipes out of the container one by one. He's still a good kid generally so we're not sending him to boot camp just yet...
