Chase - A Stand-up Guy

|

Check back soon to read an incredible story about toilet plumbing! But for now, settle for the following words...

There is no possible way to overstate my disappointment with last night's American Idol. Katharine McPhee is my pick to win this season, which is why I was shocked to see her in the bottom three. I'm not sure that she's the best performer overall, but she has the best voice, without a doubt. I also like Taylor Hicks and think he may be the top pick from the guys. Bucky and Ace must go as soon as possible. I don't even need to explain why. It's obvious.

So, here are some pictures of Chase doing his stand-up trick:

Chase still gets up several times a night, but much to Emilie's dismay her husband does not. Lazy bum.

Brevity is a Virtue

|

Tonight's entry will be very brief since I'm composing it via PDA. There hasn't been much new stuff, so not much to blog about. Chase continues to grow and is actually getting quite heavy. His latest trick is that he likes to stand up. A bad mood can quickly be changed by helping him to stand. I took some pictures earlier tonight and will try to post one tomorrow.

Emilie made some sweet curtains for our bedroom.

Other than that I've just been working my buns off. Work will soon have me back in Boise for a short stay.

Hopefully you've enjoyed this little update.

Week in Review

|

NOTE: This post was actually authored last Friday, but was never posted. I deeply regret the delay - I beg your forgiveness.

Last weekend was pretty action-packed. Eventually. Emilie and I went to Bajio Mexican Grill for some delicious dinner. I got the excellent Mexican Pizza and Emilie enjoyed a Chimichanga. If I had to compare it to another place, I would say it's a little bit like Qdoba; however, the food at "Bajio" far surpasses that of the competition! If you haven't been, then you must go. If you've been, then you must go again. You must!

Mike and I attempted to fish on Saturday, but the river was just too high and moving too fast, thus no luck. We tried a couple different spots, but ultimately resorted to rock-skipping (check out Mike's excellent rock-skipping technique). It will probably be a while before the river returns to a fishable level, but maybe we'll have to try some lake fishing between now and then.

After our fishing/rock-skipping activities, we cruised over to Sparks to attend Nathan's baptism. We saw a couple of people that we knew from when we lived in Sparks, but mostly it was all new faces. The baptism was good and we all went to Wendy's house for pizza after.

What started as a very spiritual evening was brought into balance by watching an edited version of Office Space that their family rented from CleanFlicks. It's a very funny movie.

On Sunday we watched Rabbit-Proof Fence, which was very interesting. I knew that the idea for the story was true, but I didn't realize that it was a true story based on real people. It's absolutely amazing to me...

Just a Morsel

|

This is just a quick picture update for those of you checking in on Chase. I've got more to post, which I hope to do tomorrow.

This is an action sequence that was captured last Saturday morning (just after breakfast, as you can see). You can see in the first picture that he was relatively unaware of what would transpire over the next few seconds. After the initial hit, he was still in shock and wasn't sure what to do. His shock quickly turned into disgust, but all was made well with a quick dab of the burp cloth. I'm still not sure why they call it a burp cloth. I've never used it to wipe up a burp, and if all he did was burp then I wouldn't need it at all.

Making Progress

As long as we're bragging about stats, I should mention that I broke into the top 20 in Progress Quest. Ha!
