Bagels on the Street

Per Richard's 5/13/05 piecast/frogcast, here are the mystery bagels.

Yay Blobby!!

Team Chocolate Blobby has surpassed the 400 cache mark! This significant accomplishment deserves a special blog entry.

Buh-bye.

Soooo, who will we be saying goodbye to tonight? My bets are still on Trachen, but I wouldn't be unhappy with a Bice. I think Vonzell is my top choice to win since Carrie bought herself a ticket home last night. Carrie is okay, Vonzell would be better, Bice and Trach have GOT TO GO!!

Okay. I've been at the new job for all of three days now. All in all it looks like a good move, but there are some strange things that they do. One bizarre example is that the computer clock is locked down so that it can't be changed (for "security"), but the clock doesn't synchronize to a time server. This means that the time is wrong on all the computers, but they can't fix it. Very weird. Anyway, minor things. The place is cool and I think I'll like it. There's a good spot for a cache right outside my window. If I put something there then I can watch people come by and find it. I probably should wait until I've been there a bit longer just to be safe.

I ordered a new computer last week. This will be my first new computer in six years. SIX YEARS! I also got a killer deal on a Dell monitor. Harold sent me a link and I scored a 19" LCD for $280. I did a quick check on reviews and they were all very good. In fact, CNET had it ranked as their top 19" LCD. Not that I always trust CNET...Anyway, I just got it yesterday and it looks awesome. I can't wait for the computer to get here!

Emilie cracked her head open today. A cupboard door was open, she bent down and nailed it on the way back up. She was at work, so I didn't get to see it, but she has a nice little wound in her scalp. Bloody! She can tell you more about that if she chooses.

I like rice pudding. I really like rice pudding. Emilie won't even try it and no one else in my family likes it except my mom. I bought some at Walmart, which I fully intend to enjoy while watching American Idol tonight. It has rAiSiNs ;p

The Fact of the Matter

|

Generally speaking, I would say that tonight is an unfortunate night. While it may seem that way at first I will soon explain why it is not.

First, the big anti-Idol show on ABC was a joke. It was a big advertisement for Corey Clark. There was no evidence other than some hearsay and phone records, which I have a hard time believing are real. I think that Corey realizes that he doesn't have a chance at selling his goofy album so he made the story up to get publicity. I couldn't stand him when he was on the show and this little stunt confirms everything I believed about him. I mean, she's Paula Abdul and he's...Corey Clark. Honestly!

Next on the stupid roster: What's up with this garbage?!?!

Attention, PEPSI!! You have a good thing going with Pepsi Twist. Let's not ruin it by becoming a Coke wannabe!

I am unemployed. It is weird. It was a good day. Not only did they have to move people today (my least favorite activity at my former job), but they also got hit by a virus. It only affected a small handful of users, which is good. From what I heard it was a variant of Sober. It was a good day because it's not my problem anymore (sorry, Harold).

Any now, the good news (I told you it wasn't all bad)! There is a new link on the right side of the blog. It's for my Fortune Cookie Blog. You can go there to read my fortunes! I've been collecting fortunes for a while, but finally got around to scanning them. Can you guess where I eat most of the time? The dates are phony - I just changed them for variety. See? You are fortunate! Get it?!?!

GOOOAAAALLLLLL!!!!

|

Soooo, how did I do with my goals last week? Last Saturday I set a goal to finish my talk, unpack my boxes, update the house part of the web page and find three caches. I found my three caches and prepared my talk, but I didn't unpack boxes or update the web page. Although it was a week late, I did get the boxes unpacked yesterday and I updated the web page tonight.

It's a little crazy going into the final week at my current job. My exit interview is on Wednesday, after which I'll be escorted out. I'm taking a couple days off to relax before starting at the new place the following Monday. I know a big secret about the new digs, but I am sworn to secrecy. And don't bother calling me to ask because I can't...say.......anything.

I am making a decision about a new computer this week. My computer is about six years old - it's a PIII 500MHz system and is about to die. Sometimes it doesn't start and I have to open it up and sort of stroke the heart. I thought about building a system, but I'm not sure I want to deal with that. I'm not much of a power user at home, so I don't think it would be worth it. I'm hoping to get some money from my unused vacation, which I should probably use on the house instead because we're going to be real poor, real soon. Maybe I'll wait and see how much money Uncle Sam steals first...
