Books and Albums

|

It's official. As of today, we passed the required 50,000 word mark for NevNugNov. I'm afraid my contribution - although helpful as far as raw word contribution goes - was lacking in creativity and skill. In any case, it was fun and now it's done. It was a good enough experience that I think it would be fun to do again next year. I think next time it would be even better now that we know what to expect. It wouldn't surprise me if I was encouraged by the others to work on my own book, though, if you know what I mean.

I updated the house page with the most recent picture. It looks a lot like the last update, except that the walls have been sheet-rocked inside. I'll need to sneak in and get some pictures of the inside sometime. I have a few, but it's changed a lot since the last pictures I took. I also created an album in the photo section so that people can see more pictures than just the one angle that I've been posting on the house page. It can be viewed here.

The last time we talked to the builder they said they were a couple weeks ahead of schedule. I'm not sure if that will stick, but it looks like they're pretty close to being "on schedule" anyway. That would ut us in the house sometime in January. Woohoo!!

State of Brad

Not much has been happening. As always, work is busy, so I've been spending quite a bit of time doing work stuff. We've had some fun activities - we had our ward Thanksgiving Dinner, where the bishopric cooked deep-fried turkeys. I didn't eat much because everyone else ate all the turkey :( But it was still good and fun.

After the dinner we went to see National Treasure, which I thought was awesome! It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me bite my fingernails. Not really, but it was very good. We went with Sam and Lisa because they are our friends. Here is a picture of them (Sam has hardly any hair, so Lisa is rubbing his head! And his pants are made of big leaves!):

When we were at their place eating really good cobbler I had to explain what a blog is, so the chances of them reading this is slim. That means I can do whatever I want. For example, I superimposed a picture of a starfish in Sam's hand. Hilarious!

This week will be fun since it is a short week. I mean, the week isn't short, but rather the work week is short. You know what I mean. I'll hopefully get plenty of time to work on the NevNugNov novel. I'm not too worried because Foosbology predicted that we will indeed finish the novel in time. I made a significant contribution tonight (1,000 words is a lot for me) and have some new developments that are going to turn the literary world upside-down! Developing...

I'm Very Fortunate

|

Blogging has been scarce since my regular blogging time is being used to produce words for NevNugNov. Things are miraculously coming together; however, Ray is on a cruise for the next week and will probably not be able to see what's going on with the novel. He took a laptop so that he could write, but who knows what will happen without knowing what we're writing. He's a loose cannon when it comes to writing - we told him he needs to write four or five hundred words a day and he struggles to limit himself to two or three thousand. Good for us.

I ate at Panda Express a few days ago and received the most interesting of fortunes. Check it out:

Tonight is the first session of stake conference. I think Emilie and I are going to go see a movie, check out the progress on the house and who knows what else before going to conference. I'm hoping to finally clean-up my posts so that I can publish a few days worth of writing for the novel. I thought Saturday was a day off :(

What a Relief!

I won't say much except to say that I am extremely happy that the elections went the way they did. Not only did Bush win the re-election, but we got rid of Tom Daschle. Unfortunately, we didn't get rid of Harry Reid. People of Nevada! I am calling on you stop voting for this man! He is a pawn for the Democrats and does not have Nevada's interest in mind. He puts a Yucca Mountain commercial on TV every six years and people fall for it. If you think that it helps to have a powerful senator represent Nevada then you are mistaken. Harry Reid does not represent you - he uses you for his own interests. Okay, I've already said too much...

The house is coming along quite nicely. I put a new picture up a couple of nights ago. It won't be long now. Just kidding, it will.

I've been participating in the NevNugNov project that Richard got started. We're only six days into the month and we're already a quarter of the way done. If nothing else, this has served to emphasize my lack of creative writing skills. It's too bad I stink so bad because I actually like doing it.

I was disappointed by one of the results from Foosbology.com. Richard Ziser was predicted to win, but didn't. The average is still very good, though. I was very excited to see that the request form is fixed.

By the way, no more politics. I'm going to refrain until the next election. I think I promise.

Its been awhile

|

Well it has been awhile since I have blogged, but I have been busy.
Acouple of weeks ago, our ward had their Primary Program. It turned out well. It actually went over by 15 minutes, but since I didnt have all the kids at any of the practices so I couldnt judge the program acurately. Now that it is over, I'm thinking someone else should fill my shoes before the new year starts. I am also thinking maybe they should keep me in and then I dont have to move to the new ward.

Had a Super Saterday also a couple of weeks ago, and taught a class. It was a Christmas garland, and I had a bunch of decorations for it. It turned out well.

I will miss my ward if we end up leaving. I like that it is small. I like that we have a bunch of people pregnant. I still am not, neither is Jennifer from out Ward, but hey we could get pregnant soon, and we will have two handfulls of people pregnant in our ward and have a big baby shower.:)

I picked out my carpet, florring and countertops this last week. I had some reservations about some of my choices but after a second opinion from my coworker Kari she agreed with my decision and I now feel better. I did however change my appliances from white to black (no charge) to match the countertops but we have a white refrigerator. It will be an eye sore untill we get a black one, and that probably wont be for awhile.

Had a horrible time voting the other day. Since we moved, we never received out ballet. SO after trying two places I finally found it at Damonte Ranch High School. I stood in line for almost 3 hours. Their were alot of angry people there. Some tried to solve the problem by asking others who they were voting for, because they could leave it they canceled eachother out. I was shocked when everyone else had no problems and only had to wait in lines for 30 minutes to no wait. I just lost three hours of work pay!!! George Bush won so it was worth it. That night did another Super Tuesday for my Mom is Washoe Valley. Made Snowman from wooden balesters. Made one last year, but the one I mad on Tuesday was alot cuter.
I like crafts....., I like making crafts.... I think I am good at it.

I am in dire need of a haircut. It has been awhile, I have rescheduled twice. Once due to our moving out of our house on San Joaquin, and the other for doctor issues. I get one at the end of the month. I hope I dont have to reschedule again.
