I guess you need to by Brad a shredder to clean his room! And he did it yesterday. He shredded for I think 2 hours straight. I must give him praise for protecting our identity, but for the last few years paper has piled up in his room because he doesnt want to throw out paper with information about us on it, not even our address. His room is paper hill. I never worried about this before, but it is starting to worry me now. Identity theft is the hottest new craze. I hope I ripped up my information enough that people didnt get my information through the garbage!
Brads room is still a disarray.
Ive been very busy with my Primary calling. I though it was easy at first, because I really just have to make sure everyone is doing their job. Come to find out not everyone is doing their job. This calling is stressfull, time consuming, and often difficult. The only thing I think about is that there is no way out. I know I just need to work harder and trust the lord that he will make this easier. I think the hardest part is that I like being in control, and having things organized so that everyone is not getting undo burden. Primary always seems out of control. Ahh
SO I must say that I still have free time to watch TV, and Brad mentioned sometimes we are watching too much. I am myself glued to American Idol, The Bachlorette (Go Merideth) and The last season of Friends. Hopefully I will stop watching so much soon.
I am having Bunko at my house this month. I was thinking this morning how long I have been in this group and ithas almost been 3 years. Crazy huh! I am working on staring another group with my friend Mariann at the end of this month. If it works out I might have to be in only one group. To much time!
Throwing a shower for Shannon Wilkinson and her baby Conner on Valentines Day. I am excited.
Brad has bought wood to build shelves. Will he do it. Take the plunge and build something so I can decorate them with books and nic nacs? We will see
We just watched the final episode of X-Files Season 8 on Saturday night. Between the TV post, the American Idol 3 post and this post, it should be a clear testament to how much TV we've been watching lately. I'd like to say that I'm going to ease off for a while, but Fear Factor has been getting good and American Idol 3 is just getting started.
Fear Factor is great because the contestants are starting to really go crazy on each other. There are a lot of ill feelings, which makes for great television. Am I proud of this? Not really, but I'm not ashamed either.
Richard sent me a link that I found to be quite disturbing. Remember, I post this link with much hesitation. This guy's argument might actual hold an ounce of water, except for the fact that these people know what their getting into. Additionally, I find that American Idol helps people because it may stop some people from continuing to pursue their dream of singing - this is good news for those who think they are all that, but in fact reek.
Maybe I'll pick up a book tonight...
This is a very special time of the year. Unlike most of the rest of the year when people all over the country waste their time watching trash on TV, this month the airwaves grace us with the presence of American Idol 3. What a great show! The first three episodes have been nothing less than riveting and the rest of the season looks to be equally enthralling.
If you are not watching American Idol, you should hop on the bandwagon for next week's episodes (the first couple weeks of the season are always the best). If you already watch this show, then give yourself a pat on the back. You have very discriminating taste indeed!
This week was one of mixed emotions. I've experienced one of my higher highs, but also one of my lower lows.
On the one hand, I found my second FTF (First To Find in geocaching speak). My First FTF came on Wednesday of last week. I was very excited about that - especially to get two so close together.
On the other hand, we lost a dear member of our family. I, unfortunately, was given the task of taking the remains to the dump. It shouldn't have been so sad, though. The remains had been sitting in my computer room for months. Lifeless. I had taken the day off from work quite a while back and decided to play some video games. I turned on the TV and Playstation and went to the kitchen for some refreshment. I walked back into the room and noticed a strange smell. I quickly shuffled around the room to find the source of the smell and finally traced it back to the smoking corpse of the television. I quickly unplugged it from the wall, but it was too late.
That television had been with our family for many years. It had shown me my first episodes of Sledge Hammer! as well as the winning moment when Kelly Clarkson triumphed at the conclusion of the first season of American Idol.
I thought about taking some pictures of the TV for memories sake, but it just seemed too morbid. I went to Waste Management on Commercial Row, quietly backed my truck up to the fill and with a gentle toss said goodbye to a dear friend.
TV, you will be missed.
What gives? At the direction of my boss, I took a few days of work - the first day being Christmas and lasting until New Year's Day. I'm planning on going back tomorrow, but I'm a little irritated. With this unusual amount of time off I thought it would be a good opportunity to get some caching in; however, the weather has been highly uncooperative. It has been snowy, rainy, windy and cold - hardly good weather to go tromping around.
I decided last night that I would go today no matter what, but the strength of the wind and the wetness of the weather has made me think twice.
On a happier note, we went to my parent's house Christmas Eve to have dinner and hang out. We stayed overnight and spent our Christmas day there. Christmas afternoon we went to Emilie's parent's house for Christmas dinner and to spend some time with her family. We played some Cranium with my family and had a pretty good day. The vacation since then has consisted of a little work, a lot of relaxing and far too little caching.
Emilie treated me pretty good and got me a Dremel tool, Enter the Matrix video game, Penguin Planet and a few other goodies.
It's the last day of vacation and the weather is yucky.
